Fairfield Apartment Shot At; Vandalized

 CBS 5 CrimeWatch

FAIRFIELD (BCN) ― Fairfield police are searching for a group of people who allegedly fired shots and smashed the windows of an apartment Monday night.

Police received reports of shots fired at about 8:30 p.m. in the 1400 block of Phoenix Drive.

The victim told officers that between 10 and 15 suspects arrived at her home and knocked on the door. When the victim refused to answer the door, one of the suspects fired at least one shot through her window, police said.

Others smashed various windows of the apartment and tried to kick in the front door, according to police.

The suspects were unable to enter the apartment, however, and fled before police arrived. Investigators later learned that the victim knew the suspects and that there has been an ongoing dispute between them.

No one was injured Monday, and investigation is still under way.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Fairfield Police
Department at (707) 428-7300 or Solano County Crime Stoppers at (707)
644-7867.
