SF Embarcadero Center Lighting Up For Holidays

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS 5 / BCN) ― San Francisco's Embarcadero Center lights up for the holidays Friday during the 23rd-annual building lighting ceremony.

The lighting ceremony,at the Holiday Ice Rink in Embarcadero Center, includes a carnival, a sneak preview of a Disney On Ice show at the rink and a fireworks display to close out the night.

Embarcadero Center's office towers will be lighted with more than 17,000 lights during the ceremony, and will remain illuminated until Dec. 31, according to event organizer Helen Han.

As part of the ceremony, Disney On Ice is presenting a sneak preview of its show Worlds of Fantasy, which will run in the Bay Area between Feb. 24 and March 7.

Preceding the ice show and the lighting ceremony is a carnival, which will feature games, interactive arts and crafts booths, musical performances, and other attractions.

The event will end with a fireworks display along the shoreline.

Free parking will also be offered in the five-block area between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Embarcadero Center runs from Battery to Drumm streets, in between Sacramento and Clay streets.
