 CBS 5 CrimeWatch
EAST PALO ALTO (BCN) ― Authorities arrested seven people Thursday after discovering about five pounds of cocaine and more than a half-pound of crystal methamphetamine at a home in East Palo Alto, a police commander said Friday.

The arrests were made after a month-long undercover operation conducted by the San Mateo County Narcotics Task Force in cooperation with the East Palo Alto and Menlo Park police departments.

Around 8:05 a.m. Thursday, authorities executed a search warrant at a home in the 2300 block of Ralmar Avenue in East Palo Alto, according to East Palo Alto police Cmdr. Marc Alcantara.

During a search of the home, authorities found about 5 pounds of cocaine, with a street value of $180,000, and more than a half-pound of crystal methamphetamine with a street value of $135,000.

Seven people were arrested at the home for possession of cocaine and methamphetamine for sale.

Luis Luna, 28, of Redwood City; Adan Meraz, 33, of Redwood City; Rigoberto Maldonado, 32, of Union City; Francisco Miranda, 23, of East Palo Alto; Rafael Valencia, 39, of East Palo Alto; Manuel Rosas, 21, of Turlock; and Vicente Sanchez, 31, of Menlo Park were arrested.

Rosas was also arrested for an outstanding warrant from Merced County for possession of cocaine, methamphetamine, and a weapon charge, Alcantara said.

All of the suspects were booked into San Mateo County jail and have had bail set at $5.3 million except for Rosas, whose bail was set at $5.5 million because of the outstanding warrant.
