1 Killed In Multi-Vehicle Crash In Dublin

DUBLIN (BCN) ― A multi-vehicle crash left one person dead and blocked all lanes of eastbound Interstate Highway 580 for about three hours in unincorporated Alameda County Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash, involving at least five vehicles, was reported at about 12:25 a.m. just west of Schaefer Ranch Road on Highway 580 west of Dublin, according to CHP Officer Pacheco.

The Alameda County coroner's bureau was contacted at about 12:35 a.m. about a fatality at the scene of the crash, according to the CHP.

All lanes were blocked on eastbound Highway 580 until about 3:30 a.m. and authorities diverted traffic to Dublin Canyon Road and back onto Highway 580 from Foothill Road, Pacheco said.

A Sig-alert was issued at about 12:35 a.m., according to Pacheco, and was canceled at about 3:35 a.m. when the lanes were reopened, according to CHP Officer Robert Haven.
