Daly City Car Plunges Off Cliff

DALY CITY (BCN) ― A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter assisted emergency crews and the California Highway Patrol in a search in Daly City after a vehicle went off a cliff near a road in the city late Saturday night, a petty officer said.

The crash happened at about 10:20 p.m. on state Highway 35 near Westmoor Avenue, according to the CHP.

A Coast Guard helicopter was asked to assist at the scene because authorities were unsure how many people were in the vehicle and if someone was ejected from the vehicle, Petty Officer Russell Nagle said.

The helicopter shined light on the scene while authorities looked for any possible victims, Nagle said.
