2-Alarm Grass Fire Extinguished Near Crockett

CROCKETT (BCN) ― Firefighters extinguished a grass fire that burned a 4-acre patch of land off of Interstate Highway 80 near Crockett Thursday morning, a Contra Costa County Fire Protection District dispatcher said.

The two-alarm fire was reported at 9:15 a.m. off of I-80 at Cummings Skyway, the dispatcher said.

As of 11:50 a.m., the fire was out but firefighters remained at the scene to make sure no hot spots re-ignited, the dispatcher said.

Contra Costa County firefighters received assistance from Cal Fire.

No injuries were reported and no structures were damaged or threatened, the dispatcher said.
