Fiery Crash Shuts NB Lanes On I-280 In Cupertino
CUPERTINO (BCN) ―
All northbound lanes were back open on Interstate Highway 280 just south of Wolfe Road in Cupertino after a major crash involving an overturned utility truck that caught fire, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported at about 11:10 a.m. and the CHP shut down all northbound lanes to respond to the fire, according to CHP Officer Scott Cakebread. A Sig-alert was issued at 11:27 a.m. and lifted at 12:19 p.m.
A utility truck and at least one other vehicle were involved, according to Cakebread. At least one person has been transported to a hospital, he said.
Crews have cleared the roadway and removed a considerable amount of debris, according to the CHP.
