Stolen CoCo College Police Car, Rifle Recovered

 CBS 5 CrimeWatch

SAN PABLO (BCN) ― Contra Costa County sheriff's deputies found stolen police equipment including a rifle inside a home near San Pablo early Saturday morning and arrested two residents, according to a sheriff's spokesman said.

A neighbor called the sheriff's office around 3 a.m. because people were taking items out of a Contra Costa Community College district police car that was covered with a blanket, sheriff's spokeswoman Jimmy Lee said.

The people were taking the equipment to a home in the 2900 block of Chevy Way, Lee said.

He said deputies searched the home, found the rifle in a detached garage and other items taken from the police car.

Denise Rohrbach, 24, and Satnum Singh, 30, were arrested and booked in Martinez with a $20,000 bail on suspicion of possessing stolen property.

Rohrbach is also suspected of violating probation.
