CoCo County PD Suspect Arson In Structure Fire

CONTRA COSTA CO. (BCN) ― A structure fire that burned an abandoned building in the Bay Point area of Contra Costa County Sunday morning is being investigated as suspected arson, a Contra Costa County Fire Protection District dispatcher said.

The fire, in a two-story building at 3 Skipper Road near Port Chicago Highway, was reported at 6:14 a.m. and controlled at 6:41 a.m., the dispatcher said.

Firefighters suspect the fire was started intentionally.

Damage is estimated to be about $25,000, according to the dispatcher.
