Three children - a 1-year-old girl, a 4-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy - were shot and wounded during a gunfight that erupted in broad daylight near an Oakland intersection Saturday afternoon, according to police.
The shootings occurred around 2:15 p.m. in the 6500 block of International Boulevard at 65th Street, where officers said they found the children suffering from gunshot wounds.
All three kids were expected to survive, police said. The boy was treated and released at Highland Hospital, while the two young girls were taken to Oakland Children's Hospital where they were last listed in critical but stable condition.
Witnesses told CBS 5 that a woman and the children were crossing the street after departing a corner grocery store when the gunfight erupted between two groups of young men.
Two other people were hit by shattered glass of car windows, police spokesman Jeff Thomason said.
Police had not identified any suspects.
Anyone with information regarding the shootings was asked by investigators to call the Police Department's homicide section at (510) 238-3821.
