LOMPOC (CBS 5 / AP) ―
A small earthquake jolted Santa Barbara County early Thursday, but there were no reports of damage or injuries.
The U.S. Geological Survey said an offshore quake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.9 shook the area at 4:22 a.m. It was centered about 7 miles northwest of Point Conception, 9 miles southwest of Lompoc and 29 miles southwest of Santa Maria.
U.S. Geological Survey physicist Randy Baldwin said more than 200 reports of people feeling the quake came into the USGS center in Colorado.
