The Alameda County Sheriff's Office Tuesday night released descriptions of two suspects wanted in connection with the Friday fatal shooting of a 31-year-old Castro Valley man inside his hydroponics equipment store.
Deputies responded to Alameda County Hydroponics at 20910 Redwood Road around 2:45 p.m. Friday on reports of shots fired and found the store's owner suffering a gunshot wound, Alameda County sheriff's Sgt. Ray Kelly said. The victim, 31-year-old Christopher Bolton, died at a local hospital.
The sheriff's office Tuesday said witnesses described the suspects as two Hispanic or Samoan men. One suspect is believed to be between 18 and 25 years old, 145 to 160 pounds, with short black hair, and a medium complexion.
The second suspect is described as being between 21 and 35 years old, 185 to 200 pounds and 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall. He has short, faded spiked or slicked back hair with a low hairline, a medium complexion and was seen wearing a light-colored T-shirt and dark pants. He was carrying a black backpack or cloth bag.
The suspects got into a waiting vehicle and fled east on Redwood Road, according to the sheriff's office. The car was described as a bluish-silver, 1990s four-door American sedan with oxidation on the roof and trunk.
The sheriff's office has not released a motive in the killing.
Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to call the sheriff's office at (510) 667-7721. To remain anonymous, call (510) 667-3622.
