Botched Robbery Attempt Ends In SF Campus Arrests

 CBS 5 CrimeWatch

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS 5) ― An attempted armed robbery at a home across the street from Bret Harte Elementary School in San Francisco resulted in a brief foot chase and a pair of arrests outside elementary school classrooms Wednesday Afternoon.

According to Gentle Blythe of the San Francisco Unified School district, police responded to reports of a robber across from the school, which is located at 1035 Gilman St. When police arrived, two suspects jumped the fence onto the school yard.

Students were immediately locked down in their classrooms, according to Blythe. Chopper 5 captured the arrest of one suspect near the school playground. Police eventually took two suspects into custody.

CBS 5 has learned that police remained at a home in the area investigating possible drug activity.
