Caltrain Hits Big Rig In Burlingame
BURLINGAME (BCN) ―
Caltrain service was disrupted on the Peninsula Monday morning by a collision between a train and a tractor-trailer on the tracks in Burlingame, Caltrain spokeswoman Christine Dunn said.
The accident happened around 7:30 a.m. when southbound train No. 312 collided with the tractor-trailer near the Broadway station in Burlingame.
Dunn has not yet released details on the crash but said the truck driver sustained minor injuries. No one on the train was hurt.
The train involved, an express train, had left San Francisco at 6:50 a.m. and had stopped in Millbrae at 7:17 a.m. It was scheduled to bypass Burlingame and stop next in Redwood City.
The accident initially stopped service in both directions, but Caltrain reported around 8 a.m. that trains were being allowed to pass through the area on a single track.
Because only one track is being used, delays were expected to persist.
Riders can call Caltrain's customer service line at (800) 660-4287 for service updates.
