Teen Boy Killed By Caltrain; 2nd Death In 2 Days

A commuter train struck and killed a teenage pedestrian in Palo Alto on Tuesday, marking the rail's second fatality in as many days.
Caltrain spokeswoman Mary Knuckles the victim, a teen boy whose name had not been released, was hit by a northbound train at the East Meadow Drive crossing shortly after 8:20 a.m.
Knuckles said the gates at the crossing were down, and the lights and bells were working normally.
On Monday, a woman was struck and killed by a Caltrain in Mountain View in what authorities said was an apparent suicide.
The woman sat down on the tracks less than a half-mile north of the San Antonio station and was hit by a southbound train around 11:30 a.m.
Monday's death was Caltrain's first pedestrian fatality this year.
