Woman Hit By San Francisco Cable Car Dies

A woman who was struck by a San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency cable car Wednesday morning died from the injuries at the hospital, the transportation agency announced Thursday.
The 80-year-old woman, identified at Jin Xi Yu Lin, was reportedly hit shortly before 6 a.m. while the cable car was traveling north on Mason Street near Broadway.
She was taken to San Francisco General Hospital.
According to the transportation agency, both the gripman and the conductor of the car were tested for drugs and alcohol. Muni spokesman Judson True said under state law, the agency never discloses the results of the tests.
The incident is still under investigation.
