4th Suspect Nabbed In Bolinas Attempted Murder

 CBS 5 CrimeWatch

BOLINAS (AP) ― The fourth suspect in the beating and stabbing of a transient in Bolinas was arrested in Marin City Wednesday afternoon, the Marin County Sheriff's Office announced.

The beating victim, Ricky Green, 33, was released from Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital on Wednesday afternoon, according to the sheriff's office.

Lamont Elkins, 19, of Mill Valley, was arrested at a residence on Buckelew Street between 1 and 2 p.m., Sgt. Gary Wilbanks said.

Investigators learned he might be at the residence and set up a surveillance operation. Elkins was spotted at a window and was arrested without incident for attempted murder, Wilbanks said. He is being held in the county jail under $1 million bail and was scheduled for arraignment Thursday afternoon.

The three other suspects in the stabbing were due to appear Thursday morning in Marin County Superior Court in a bid to be released on their own recognizance.

Ryan Patrick Lorne, 22, and Stefan Do, 16, both of Bolinas, were arraigned Monday. Thoren Manetta, 19, of Mill Valley, was arraigned Tuesday. None of them has entered pleas.

Do is being held in juvenile hall but he is being prosecuted as an adult. Manetta's bail is $1 million and Lorne's bail is $500,000.

All four have been charged with the attempted murder of Green on Brighton Avenue near the beach in Bolinas on June 23. Elkins and Do also are charged with use of a deadly weapon, according to the district attorney's office.

Green was found with a stab wound and severe lacerations to his head and thigh in the area of 94 Brighton Ave. at 11:12 p.m., the Marin County Sheriff's Office said. A sheriff's office dive team recovered a knife from Bolinas Lagoon.

Green was listed in critical condition when he was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. He has returned home to his family, Wilbanks said.

The beating shocked Bolinas residents. Green was described as free-spirited and a flashy dresser.

Wilbanks said Tuesday investigators are still trying to determine a motive and whether the assault on Green is related to the assault of another man the night before on Wharf Road.
