Caltrain is adding extra trains and stops in Palo Alto Saturday to accommodate fans heading to the Big Game, the annual football game between Stanford University and the University of California at Berkeley.
The game starts at 4:30 p.m. at Stanford Stadium. Caltrain will run two special limited-stop trains from San Francisco to the Stanford station, located at Embarcadero Road and Alma Street. The trains leave from San Francisco at 2:02 p.m. and 2:46 p.m., stopping at the Millbrae and Hillsdale stations.
Regular trains will also stop at the Stanford station for approximately two hours before and after the game. Riders can also use the Palo Alto station, located a half mile north of the Stanford station.
For fans coming from the East Bay, Caltrain recommends transferring from BART at the Millbrae station.
There are no ticket vending machines at the Stanford station. Caltrain advises riders to purchase a day pass from their departure station.
