Woman Arrested In Berkeley Shooting
BERKELEY (BCN) ―
A Berkeley woman has been arrested in connection with a shooting that left a man hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds, Berkeley police spokesman Andrew Frankel said Monday.
The victim was shot on the sidewalk on the west side of a Bank of America parking lot at 2546 San Pablo Ave., near Parker Street, about 8:15 p.m. Sunday.
Frankel said police responded to a report of an argument in that area and heard a series of gunshots nearby while they were looking for the people involved.
Rhonda Reid, 47, was arrested near the shooting scene and a male suspect in the case is still at large, Frankel said.
The victim was transported to Highland Hospital in Oakland, where he is still undergoing treatment, Frankel said.
Frankel declined to say whether police believe the victim was shot by Reid or by the male suspect. The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
Berkeley police are asking anyone with information on the shooting to call the homicide detail at (510) 981-5741 or (510) 981-5900.
Anonymous calls can be made to the Bay Area Crime Stoppers Tip
Line at (800) 222-8477.
