Wacky Bay Area Weather On Tap: Windy, Foggy, Warm

Bay Area Wind Advisory Until 4PM Friday
CBS 5 Weather: Current Conditions & Forecast

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS 5 / AP / BCN) ― Bay Area residents are seeing quite a change in the weather as a high pressure system moves into the area, including near record high temperatures starting Friday.

The National Weather Service issued a Wind Advisory until 4 p.m. Friday for portions of the Bay Area, including the North Bay mountains and East Bay hills.

Wind gusts could reach 45 to 57 mph, according to the weather service, which advised people planning outdoor activities to be extremely careful because of the high fire danger.

Meantime, the weather service said dense fog could occur Friday morning along the coast from San Francisco south to Monterey Bay.

Once the fog lifts, temperatures were to begin rising, with forecasters saying the area could see record temperatures through Saturday.

The National Weather Service said some areas in the region could see temperatures rise about 10 to 20 degrees above normal, hitting the mid-80s Friday and Saturday.

Temperatures were expected to begin cooling off a bit by Monday.
