Man In Stable Condition After Antioch Shooting

 CBS 5 CrimeWatch
ANTIOCH (BCN) ― A 23-year-old man is in stable condition after being shot in Antioch Tuesday morning, police said.

Police received several reports shortly after 9 a.m. from people who said they heard shots fired in the 2400 block of Sycamore Drive.

The victim, an Antioch resident, drove himself to a nearby 7-Eleven store on Somersville Road to get help before police arrived.

When police caught up to him, he allegedly provided vague information that appeared to conflict with evidence at the scene, police said.

The motive for the shooting is still unclear.

Witnesses reported seeing three black males in their late teens or early 20s fleeing the scene just after they heard the shots.

One of the males was about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium build and medium complexion. The second was about 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall with a dark complexion, and the third was about 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 10 inches with a heavy build and a dark complexion. He was clean-shaven and wearing dark clothing, police said.

The victim was being treated at a hospital and was listed in stable condition Tuesday afternoon.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Antioch Police Department at (925) 778-2441.
