As police investigate yet another murder in East Oakland Friday night, there's a shake up in mayor Ron Dellums administration, as his top anti-violence aide is stepping down.
Facing a staggering increase in murders, 41 percent higher than at this time last year, Oakland Mayor Ron Dellums told hundreds of people who packed a Laney College gymnasium Saturday, "sometimes this job is just so damn hard."
"We will address and solve the problem of public safety in Oakland because failure is not an option, and once we do that, we can change this city," said Dellums.
Dellums point-person on public safety has announced her resignation after a little more than 6 months on the job.
When asked to comment on her resignation Lenore Anderson ducked out of the gym.
