Angel Island State Park beaches reopened at 8 a.m. Saturday after being closed since early November following the Cosco Busan oil spill, park superintendent Dave Matthews said.
The park originally closed after the container ship struck a protective fender of a tower of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, causing fuel to spill into the water.
The island and public docks, overnight mooring buoys, trails and picnic areas were reopened shortly after the Nov. 7 spill, but the beaches remained closed for cleanup until Saturday, Matthews said.
Beaches are now open for all uses, according to Matthews.
