Amtrak California Adds Cars For Thanksgiving Week
(BCN)
Amtrak will be adding extra cars on its California routes to accommodate a seasonal surge of passengers during Thanksgiving week.
Six train cars - about 400 seats - will be added to its San Joaquin service between Bakersfield and Sacramento; more than 700 seats will be added to its Pacific Surfliner service between San Diego and San Luis Obispo; and more than 500 seats will be added to its Capitol Corridor service between Auburn and San Jose.
Tickets for these routes, with the exception of the Capitol Corridor route, must be purchased in advance during Thanksgiving week, Amtrak spokeswoman Vernae Graham said.
"Every Thanksgiving we've exceeded ridership from the year before," Graham said, "and we're expecting the same this year."
