Bay Area Singer Tells Tale Of Amerasian Children
HAYWARD (CBS 5) ―
It has been 33 years since the Fall of Saigon. But the emotional wounds go on for the tens of thousands of mixed-race children whose fathers were American GI's, who were left behind and forgotten in Vietnam.
Randy Tran of Hayward, one of the Amerasian children was left behind when the Vietnam War ended. He has written a song in Vietnamese about his life, which has struck a chord with the Vietnamese-American community. The community hopes that increased awareness will lead to citizenship for 20,000 Amerasians already in the U.S.
