Vacaville Ironworker Dies After Falling At Church

VACAVILLE (BCN) ― A 22-year-old ironworker died after an industrial accident Friday at a Vacaville church that was being renovated, police said.

The accident happened around 2 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 350 Stinson Ave.

Jerry Christopher Gray suffered severe head trauma when he fell from an I-beam about 45 feet off the ground and landed on the concrete below, according to police.

The Vacaville man was airlifted to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek where he died.

Hospital personnel notified police early Saturday morning Gray had succumbed to his injuries.
