Salinas Police Arrest Man For Drive-By Shooting
SALINAS (BCN) ―
A 34-year-old man was arrested in Salinas Friday night after a routine traffic stop led police to discover the man had just committed a drive-by shooting.
Pedro Coyt was arrested at about 11:20 p.m. after Salinas police officers saw a vehicle being driven recklessly while items were being thrown out of it and pulled it over in the 600 block of Countryside Drive.
While officers were speaking with Coyt, they received a report of a drive-by shooting in the area that the vehicle was driving away from.
An investigation determined that Coyt had committed the shooting, and evidence, including the gun used in the shooting, was recovered in the area, police said.
