SJSU Bans Blood Drives Over Discrimination

SAN JOSE (CBS 5) ―
San Jose State University has become the first university in the nation to ban blood drives on campus. The school has suspended donations over a FDA ban against donations by gay men.
University officials say the FDA ban violates the school's policy against discrimination. Stanford Blood Center, which receives 20 percent of its donations from San Jose State is worried the ban will affect blood supplies.
