Occupied Petaluma Home Riddled With Gunfire

 CBS 5 CrimeWatch

PETALUMA (BCN) ― Petaluma police are investigating a shooting into an occupied residence on Santa Clara Lane early Tuesday morning.

Sgt. Ed Crosby said a small four-door compact silver or gray sedan pulled in front of the house in the 1000 block of Santa Clara Lane shortly after midnight Tuesday.

An occupant stepped out of the car and fired more than 20 rounds toward the front of the house. The vehicle then left the scene, Crosby said.

Some of the rounds struck unoccupied vehicles in the driveway and in front of the house and others penetrated the house causing damage inside, Crosby said. No one in the house was struck or injured by the gunfire and no other residences in the neighborhood were damaged, Crosby said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Jason Lechleiter at (707) 778-4372.
