Super-Efficient LED Bulbs Light Of The Future
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS 5) ―
Compact fluorescent bulbs save energy, but they pose some environmental problems of their own. Now, LED bulbs have arrived, providing more energy savings and lasting even longer than fluorescent lights.
Warner Philips and his private venture partners are marketing a bulb that could dramatically reduce electrical use worldwide. The bulb lasts for 50 years, about 8 times longer than fluorescents. They also use only 4 watts for the equivalent of a 40 watt incandescent.
