Ku Klux Klan Flyers Distributed In Santa Cruz
SANTA CRUZ (AP) ―
Two men have been peppering a few Santa Cruz County neighborhoods with fliers promoting the Ku Klux Klan.
Sheriff's Sgt. Fred Plageman says the men seen passing out the fliers Tuesday were not arrested because they weren't breaking any laws.
Plageman says Santa Cruz Gardens residents found the fliers on their vehicle windshields Tuesday morning. He says a deputy spoke to the menone of whom is on probation for vandalism.
The men were seen again Tuesday night in another neighborhood. They apparently placed most of their fliers on vehicles parked in the road.
The fliers ask people to join the KKK in preserving what is described as a "white Christian civilization" and list contact information for the KKK's California Chapter of the Church of the United Realm of America in Ukiah.
