Body Found On 880 In Fremont, May Be Hit-Run Case
FREMONT (CBS 5 / BCN) ―
A body was found on northbound Interstate Highway 880 in Fremont Sunday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The body was discovered about 4 a.m. after possibly being struck by a vehicle on I-880 just north of Thornton Avenue, said CHP Officer Robert Haven.
CHP investigators were searching for the driver of a light-colored Nissan Sentra who may have witnessed the fatal hit-and-run..
The CHP also was trying to contact any other witnesses who might have information regarding the hit-and-run that closed lanes of northbound Highway 880 for almost three hours, spokeswoman Cristina Tagle said.
