Petaluma 2-Week DUI Stakeout Ends In Arrest
PETALUMA (BCN) ―
A 48-year-old Petaluma man was arrested Saturday evening at the end of a two-week-long stakeout of a repeat DUI driver who had a warrant out for his arrest, according to Petaluma police.
Scott Robert Jose was the target of the stakeout after he failed to appear in court for his second arrest for driving under the influence in April, police said.
Using a variety of surveillance techniques, officers were able to locate Jose's vehicle, a 2003 beige Toyota Tacoma truck, on Bodega Avenue near Upham Street, according to police.
Officers set up to watch the vehicle and saw Jose get in it and drive off.
At about 7:20 p.m. Saturday, the officers stopped Jose in the parking lot of the Petaluma Market where he was arrested for the DUI warrant and for driving on a suspended license, police said.
His license was suspended because of the DUI.
Jose had a second prior arrest for DUI in March 1989, according to police.
