Obama's First California TV Ad Airs In Bay Area

OAKLAND (CBS 5 / AP) ― Barack Obama's first California TV ad began airing in the Bay Area.

The 30-second clip that debuted Saturday features the Democratic candidate talking to supporters, stressing the need to reduce America's dependence on foreign oil.

With tight presidential races in both parties, the state is likely to see a stream of political ads in advance of the Feb. 5 primary.

Obama's campaign began airing the spot a day after rival Hillary Rodham Clinton visited southern California to unveil her economic plan.
