A road in San Mateo will be closed in both directions from Tuesday morning until Thursday evening while crews construct a drainage system, according to the California Department of Transportation.
Airport Boulevard will be closed just north of the Peninsula Humane Society and Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals building located at 12 Airport Blvd., according to Caltrans.
The closure will begin at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday and will last until Thursday at 6 p.m., according to Caltrans.
There will be no through traffic on Airport Boulevard while construction crews build a drainage system underneath the road.
Motorists will be detoured to Broadway to the north, and Poplar or Peninsula avenues to the south.
The closure is part of the U.S. Highway 101 Auxiliary Lane Widening Project that will be completed in the spring of 2011, according to Caltrans.
