Car Crashes Off I-680 Onto Danville Roadway
DANVILLE (BCN) ―
The California Highway Patrol is responding to a crash in Danville this morning, where a vehicle reportedly crashed over a highway guardrail and landed on the roadway below, a CHP officer said.
CHP and emergency crews responded to a report of a crash on northbound Interstate Highway 680 near El Pintado Road at around 1:40 a.m., CHP Officer Ralph Caggiano said. A vehicle had apparently collided with the guardrail on the right side of Highway 680 and crashed over it, falling on to El Pintado Road near an undercrossing.
Injuries have been reported, Caggiano said, though the extent of them has not yet been confirmed.
Debris is scattered in the right lane of Highway 680, Caggiano said, and more than 50 feet of highway guardrail has been damaged.
