2 - MUSICAL: GREEN DAY
American Idiot
Berkeley Repertory Theatre, 2025 Addison Street, Berkeley
NOW through November 1st
Green Day's breakthrough 2004 record American Idiot has now found a home on the theater stage thanks to the folks at Berkeley Rep. It was, said director Mike Dirnt, "the beautiful lyrics and poetry that drew me to the project." The run here is limited so snag a ticket while you can. As you might imagine, American Idiot rocks from beginning to end. Punk goes theatrical. Who knew? It works. Props to our East Bay power punk trio and the risk takers at Berkeley Rep. Rock on!

9 - EAT THIS: STREET FOOD
Da Beef
7th Street at Folsom, San Francisco
Mon-Thu, Sun 11am-5pm
Fri-Sat, 5pm-3am
Street food is all the rage in every corner of the Bay Area. I found a tasty little eat in the form of a Hot Dog Cart - Da Beef - at 7th Street and Folsom in San Francisco. Da Beef is run by two lovely gals, Chicago natives Natalie and Yvonne. They have the perfect recipe for the perfect dog and they want to share it with you. The $5 Polish Sausage is for sure the way to go. Go on spoil yourself to an affordable tasty eat this weekend. Da Beef is da bomb and gets my vote for the "best dog to go" in town. See Da Beef on Eye on the Bay - Street Food edition, Friday at 7pm.
