9 ALFRESCO BRUNCH
Miss Pearls Jam House
1 Broadway, Jack London Square, Oakland
Saturday and Sunday Brunch 9am - 3pm
Spice up your weekend and take a ferry across the Bay to Jack London Square for an unbeatable al fresco brunch at Miss.Pearl's Jam House. This joint was once a hot spot (Phoenix Hotel) in San Francisco but it's back after a seven year hiatus in Oakland with Chef Joey Altman once again at the helm (for now). This soul food spot is back in it's culinary groove serving up flavors of the tropics that will make your tummy happy: sweet potato fries, black-eyed pea fritters and crispy catfish fingers. Yum Yum Yum. The cheesy dungeness sweetbread is the way to go for brunch! Outside dining allows one to enjoy lunch, brunch or dinner while looking out over the Bay. Miss.Pearl's is jamming once again.

10 HAPPY HOUR
Pier 23
On The Embarcadero (@ Battery), San Francisco
Daily 11.30am - 10pm

Sit outdoors and enjoy a Happy Hour as the sun shines over the Bay at Pier 23. This funky roadhouse bar and restaurant. They offer no happy hour specials but the food, the Bay view and live music is reason enough to venture here any eve after work. The Clam Chowder ($4) is perfect, the Cajun Spiced Shrimp is sensational ($13) and the fried oysters ($13.50) to die for. This is one of my fave Friday spots to hit. See you there.
