2 - ART ATTACK
Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs
de Young Museum, San Francisco
Daily 9am - 9pm
The Pharaoh returns to Golden Gate Park after 30 years alongside a dramatically-expanded collection of ancient artifacts. The exhibit boasts a larger, more comprehensive display that places King Tut in the expanded context of Egypt's 18th dynasty, its "Golden Age." This exhibition is nothing short of impressive. A little advice, avoid the exhibit at peak times, head out early morning or early evening.

3 - NOW ON DVD
Spinal Tap - 25th Anniversary Edition
It was 25 years ago that Christopher Guest and his band of funny men first delivered unto us Spinal Tap. Now this comic classic, directed by Rob Reiner, comes in the form of Blue Ray DVD. Crank it up to eleven and enjoy the outtakes and band commentary. The film follows the musical shenanigans of a British heavy metal band as they embark on a world tour. This film features Guest and company at their comic best. The jokes never get old and yes even 25 years on they hold firm. Pants-down the funniest Rock 'n Roll movie ever made.

6 - HEAR THIS
Green Day - 21st Century Breakdown
Available NOW
East Bay rockers unleash another full throttle musical offering - a nod to the anthemic bands of the 70's like Queen and Sweet that overflow with with classic rock grandiosity. Love songs find their place on the record too: "Last of the American Girls" an intoxicating left-wing love song to a rebel girl. Green Day still has it and as they proved on their new album, they can do it all. Catch the local lads soon when they return home as part of their summer tour.

Hubert Keller - "Burger Bar: Build your own Ultimate Burger"
NOW in bookstores
French culinary king Hubert Keller, star of Master Chef (Bravo TV) and chef behind restaurants Fleur Dy Lys and Burger Bar has released the best burger book ever, giving Keller's step by step, easy to follow mouth-watering recipes for you to create at home. The burgers are arranged by category: "Big Beef Burgers," "Burgers from the Sea," and "Burgers from the Garden." My favorite, his Fleur Burger, a quarter pounder with lashings of foie gras, melted blue cheese and shaved truffles. Ahh heaven. Full marks Hubert. Folks can look forward to Keller's new Burger Bar in San Francisco scheduled to open in October by Union Square.

9 - EAT HERE
Bistro 24
4123 24th Street, San Francisco
Tuesday to Sunday 5:30pm to Midnight
There is a new kid on the block on 24th Street in Noe Valley and it's fast becoming the spot to eat. Bistro 24 with Chef Pierre Mange at the helm is serving up American classics with his own special twist and a serious nod to local purveyors. The menu offers familiar favorites: baked mac & cheese but Chef Pierre's ranks among the best I have ever had. 3 layers of cheese, cheddar, gruyere and parmesan with a small smattering of ham. The Lamb sliders are also a must have, tender juicy lamb with fire roasted gypsy peppers and feta. Chef Pierre is creating the magic and some that Miss.Millie's (1995 - 2002) once did in the same kitchen. Hurrah.

10 - TWO FOR TWO HAPPY HOURS
Garibaldi's
5356 College Avenue, Oakland
Monday to Friday 5pm - 7pm and 9pm to 11pm
It might just be the best happy hour in the East Bay. At 5pm drop in for two hours for an after work social, killer cocktails and cheap eats. The late night crowd may enjoy the late happy hours from 9pm to 11pm. All the yummy items on the menu are half-price; grilled hamburger for $7, the classic Caesar salad for $7.25 and their house pizzas from $5.50. Cocktails are killer, too. My favorite is the Oxford Shuffle: gin, English cucumber and fresh lime. Yum!
