6 - AT THE MOVIES
Hamlet 2
Now Playing
British comic genius Steve Coogan takes the lead role in this comic caper about a high school drama teacher who brings Hamlet to the school stage. However, this is Hamlet as never seen before. Coogan's witty brilliance shines through in every scene. Shakespeare may well be turning in his grave but the thought of that is worth every laugh. Coogan has arrived!

9 - EAT HERE
Miss Pearl's Jam House
1 Broadway
Jack London Square, Oakland
Dinner Daily 5.30pm to 11pm
Miss Pearl is back - and she's better than ever. Miss Pearl's Jam House, the popular restaurant that once resided at the Phoenix Hotel in San Francisco, is all grown up and has traveled across the Bay to Jack London Square. The menu here is a joy ride, reflect exotic flavors of the islands. It is filled with surprises. Lots of naughty fried food here and many items that I found just too temptying; the fried plantains, yum! The crispy calamari was to die for and the sweet potato fries were too sweet for words. The talented and brilliant orignal Executive Chef Joey Altman is presiding over the kitchen here, for now at least. Treat yourself to a visit here. You will not be disappointed.
