Veterans Of Secret Testing Program Seek Benefits

(CBS 5) The sailors who took part in a Pentagon chemical weapons testing program never said a word about the top secret operation.

But years later, when the sailors showed signs of illness from the work, the military refused to give those veterans medical benefits.

In fact, the Department of Defense claimed that biological and chemical weapons program known as Project Shad never existed.

Now, thanks to the help of a California congressman, the Pentagon is under pressure to change its stance.
