Early Drug Intervention Key To Healthy Birth

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS 5) ― Abusing alcohol as well as other drugs during pregnancy carries a significant health risk for mother and baby, but new research suggests that intervention may be the key to a healthy birth.

The study involved nearly 50,000 pregnant women. Those who received early intervention counseling and treatment reaped dramatic benefits for their babies.
