Kidney Stones Grow More Common Among American Kids
OAKLAND (CBS 5) ―
Kidney stones are typically found in middle aged people, but Children's Hospital in Oakland has recently seen them in children as young as three.
Just like high blood pressure, heart disease and type two diabeties, pediatricians are now seeing this health problem on the rise in children.
In China, babies fed tainted infant formula developed kidney stones due to the industrial chemical melamine, but now a popular study shows the culprit among American kids is likely a more common additive, salt.
