Women Scammed Into Botched Cosmetic Procedures

A warning for women willing to pay for a flawless face: some cosmetic procedures can turn ugly, when placed in the wrong hands.
Several women have come forward after being disfigured by botched cosmetic injections.
Katrina Kalanick of Fresno thought she was receiving collagen injections by a licensed physician. But she instead received industrial grade silicone, which led to a disfiguring, painful lump.
The Medical Board of California said the growing demand for cosmetic procedures from Botox to lasers is tempting unscrupulous operators to make a quick buck. Patients are being urged to check with the
Medical Board's web site to see if a doctor is licensed.
