New Technology May Put End To Bitter Pills
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS 5) ―
Millions of cancer patients experience a bad taste in their mouth as they undergo treatment. New technology promises to put an end to that bitter medicine.
According to UCSF nutritionist Greta Macaire, chemotherapy can affect the taste receptors which may make food or medicine taste metallic or bitter. Scientists are working on special chemical compounds and ingredients called bitter blockers to block out the taste.
