Study Finds Caesarian Birth Increases Asthma Risk

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS 5) ― A new study adds evidence that babies born by caesarian section are more likely to develop asthma.

Swiss researchers followed nearly 3,000 newborns for 8 years and discovered that children who were born by c-section were 80 percent more likely to develop asthma compared to those born vaginally.

Our video report looks into the possible reasons behind the discrepancy.
