(CBS 5) It's a rule that has many East Bay households sleeping easier, so why aren't big-rigs allowed on a stretch of 580?

Back in the 1960s when Caltrans was building the freeway, and it was unusually close to some homes. The neighbors were none too pleased, but they agreed to stop their protests under one condition.

The homeowners agreed to drop complaints about the building under one condition, and that is the answer to this good question.
