It's been suggested that there's an iPhone application for just about everything.
And, apparently, that maxim holds true for java junkies looking to get their caffeine fix. Starbucks is testing a new payment app at eight of its locations in the Silicon Valley.
"It was pretty cool actually," described the first customer to give it a go. "Just scan your iPhone on the little scanner thing and they just take the money off your card. It's pretty ingenious. It makes everything go a little bit faster."
He suggested that the new application could even make wallets obsolete in the future.
"You probably just have to have your keys and your phone and you'd be good to go," he said.
This trial is being closely watched by people looking for ways to advance mobile commerce.
