Food Shoppers Head To SF Chinatown As Prices Rise

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS 5) ― As the price of food continues to rise, more people are looking for ways to cut down on their food bills. Now more and more people are heading to Chinatown for lower prices.

People from outside Chinatown are attracted to lower prices and fresh fruits and vegetables. Tomatoes can go for as little as 59 cents a pound, while strawberries are sold for 99 cents a pound. A similar trend is also found in markets in San Francisco's Mission District.
