49 Mile Drive, Leg 1 - 10/26/09

Millions have passed the hundreds of seagull signs in San Francisco touting the famous 49 Mile Scenic Drive, yet few have ever driven it. Eye on the Bay sets out to drive every inch, featuring landmarks, businesses and people along the route.

  The best way to experience the 49 Mile Scenic Drive is to follow the bird signs. There is no website for the 49 Mile Scenic Drive and the book we featured in our show, "The 49 Mile Scenic Drive Handbook" is out of print. However, we found our copy at a local book store. Although we stopped at many notable landmarks here are a few specific businesses that we visited;
